Vice Chancellor, UEM Kolkata

Welcome to the Centre for Interdisciplinary Study and Research on Indian Knowledge Systems (CEIKS). UEMK is a research and educational institution dedicated to the study and preservation of India’s rich intellectual traits. The mission of the centre is to foster a deeper understanding of Indian knowledge systems and their relevance to the modern world.

At CEIKS, we believe that Indian knowledge systems offer unique insights into a wide range of subjects, including science, technology,management, philosophy, art, history, mythology and literature. We are committed to conducting rigorous research that explores the full potential of these systems. Our faculty and students are engaged in interdisciplinary research that is making significant contributions to our understanding of India’s past and present for holistic education as envisaged in NEP 2020.

The University offers a variety of educational programs that provide students with the opportunity to learn about Indian knowledge systems from a multidisciplinary perspective. Our courses are designed to be both challenging and engaging, and they are taught by leading experts in their fields. We also organize a variety of events and outreach programs that bring together scholars, students, and the general public to discuss and debate important issues related to Indian knowledge systems.

We are proud to be a part of a growing movement to revitalize Indian knowledge systems. We believe that these systems have much to offer the world, and we are committed to making them accessible to a wider audience.
